Awards

We are committed to ensuring a balanced curriculum.  Our staff work very hard to ensure that this is the case and we have achieved many awards in recognition of this.

Staff and children are currently working towards the Green Tree Silver Award, Stars Silver Award, School Games Gold Award and achievement of the Rainbow Flag.

Our teachers are also on the Apple Teacher programme.  A number of our staff have already achieved their accreditation.

Awarded in December 2017 for our commitment to staff training on LGBT+ issues.

We have now been awarded the Rainbow Flag as well.

Awarded in December 2018 for our work to do with Fair Trade.  We are proud to have achieved this as it shows our commitment to caring for the World in which we live.

We were awarded this in March 2017 as we tackle homophobic, biphobic and transphobic bullying whilst celebrating our differences.
An international award recognising best practice in environmental projects.
Awarded in 2018 for our commitment to competitive sport and unusual initiatives to increase children's access to a healthy lifestyle.
We regularly achieve bronze for our travel plan and commitment to sustainable travel; we hope this will soon be silver.
This is for our commitment to conservation.  Children are now involved in Forest Schools education and the conservation of a local wood.  In December 2018, we achieved gold status.
Foundation award for our work with schools in other countries.  The aim of this work is to develop the children's understanding of 'internationalism' and how other countries and cultures work in harmony together.
A government award recognising the progress made by our disadvantaged children.
Accreditation for our commitment to reading for pleasure.  Each year we partake in the Readathon challenge which helps to raise money for books which are then given to disadvantaged children in the UK and abroad.
Our catering service has also achieved the bronze award and is aiming for silver by the end of the academic year.

We also work with a number of local / national agencies including:

Local teaching school alliance, developing CPD and supporting trainee teachers.

We work with the Faculty of Education at the University of Cambridge to support trainee teachers.
