Curriculum

We combine the National Curriculum with our own so that children are offered a wide range of experiences and opportunities to learn.  Children are encouraged to be independent and apply their thinking in real life contexts.

All children are expected to use and apply higher level thinking skills so that they are prepared for the future.  Our curriculum is designed so that children are at the heart of their own learning, becoming ‘self-regulated’ learners.

We also believe that a curriculum should wide and far-reaching in order to inspire and motivate children.  Therefore, we offer a programme of wider curriculum activities that children partake in during the year.  Many of these activities encourage values and develop the 'rounded' individual.

For further information about the new national curriculum, please see this helpful guide for parents : Guide for Parents

Please find below, a synopsis of our programmes of study for each year group.

 Wider Curriculum

We believe that children should experience a wide, creative curriculum.  Consequently, we organise events to support children's experiences throughout the year.
