Parent Helpers
What is a parent helper?
Parent helpers are volunteers who come into school to help by listening to readers, helping with projects in the classroom, accompanying a class on a trip or walk or helping younger children with swimming in the summer.

How can I become a parent helper?
If you are interested in becoming a parent helper the first thing you should do is visit the school office. As the safety of all pupils’ is paramount you will be asked to fill out some forms and bring in some identification in order to have a CRB check. When your certificate has been received by the school we will notify you and discuss your options further.

When do I come into school?
You can arrange a time that is mutually convenient for you and the class teacher. This can be on a weekly basis to listen to readers, just on the odd occasion for trips or walks, or on a half termly basis to help with swimming.

What if I can’t make it?
If, for any reason, you are unable to come into school at your regular time it would be extremely useful if you could let the office or the class teacher know as some activities may be planned with the anticipation of an extra adult.

What is so good about being a parent helper?
It is a great opportunity to help the children and see them make progress. Your support will be greatly valued by the class teacher and the children. You really will be making a difference and contributing to the success of our school.
