In colder months it is important that your child brings warm clothing to school with them and a waterproof jacket or coat. In heavy rain or snow, children are advised to wear suitable footwear, such as boots, for travel to school and at playtimes, then to change into their normal school shoes during lessons. Please ensure all items of clothing are named.
School closure due to adverse weather conditions
If there has been excessive snow fall overnight and you are in doubt whether or not our school will be open, please listen to either, Radio Cambridgeshire 96FM, Heart FM or Hereward FM, who would have been informed of the latest situation. We will also endeavour to have a sign put up on the school front door informing you of the situation.
In the event where the weather deteriorates during a school day, if you feel it would be responsible to collect your child earlier than the normal time, please do! It might be wise if you have a contingency plan for the collection of your child/children should the above situation arise. Rest assured however, that if there is any doubt, we will keep children at school for the normal duration. Don’t forget to tell your child of these arrangements.
Please always notify the school if there is a change in the person authorised to collect K.S.I children from school at any time during the year.
