Our Worship Committee

At Fordham CE Primary School, we have a Worship Committee consisting of pupils from Year 6. They open every collective worship with these words: 

We open the Bible, as we think about God the Father 

We place the cross, as we think about Jesus, the song,

We light the candle, as we think about the Holy Spirit.

Good morning, Fordham Peace be with you.

To create our school prayer, children were encouraged to write their own prayer which the worship committee then put together. 

Dear God, 

Help us learn to have faith in all we do, 

Help us to flourish in every step we take, 

Help us build strong friendships with those around us, and fill our world with love, peace and kindness. 

Amen.

In our permanent prayer space in school, we also have a prayer book where children are free to write their own prayers. These are included in our weekly flourisher collective worship. Our prayer space is changed monthly with the help of GenR8. 

Another part of the worship committee's role is to lead the school in collective worship. They do this termly. Additionally, they reflect on staff's collective worship and feedback to Miss. Rankin.
