Welcome to Fordham CE Primary School. Starting school is a big milestone for your child and we want to provide you with the information you need to make the best informed choice about your child’s future education.
Fordham Primary is situated at the heart of the village on a large site that offers two playgrounds, a large field, an area dedicated to forest school, as well as a garden that our children can enjoy. Our grounds promote active learning and staff are trained in forest schools enabling our pupils to develop a wide range of outdoor skills and build confidence.
We have two forms in Reception through to Year 6 with the capacity of 420 children on roll; in total, we have 14 classes. More recently, we have built two new outdoor classrooms for our Year 6 children as well as specialised areas - the nest and the hive - which support our children both pastorally and academically.
Fordham CE Primary is a place where everybody matters. All of our staff are committed to providing an enjoyable, stimulating curriculum in an environment where all flourish, develop friendships and have faith.
We believe all children are special and should be valued as individuals, nurtured and well-motivated. The learning behaviour demonstrated throughout the school is exemplary and promotes respect for all. Furthermore, the quality of the education and learning that we provide at Fordham is paramount to us - we aim for our pupils to reach, if not exceed, their potential in order to become independent, curious learners. Although we are proud of the children's academic achievements, we firmly believe in developing the whole child with art, music, sport and personal and social education creatively taught throughout the school.
Together, in a trusting partnership between school and home, we can work together to help your child foster positive relationships, develop a willingness and enthusiasm to learn, raise aspirations and encourage them to follow their dreams. As parents, you have a vital role to play in your child's education and we welcome your involvement and warmly invite you to attend the many activities that we hold throughout the year.
