Trust Deeds

Please find a copy of the original deed dated 10th May 1849.

The main purpose of the trust set out in the document is below:

“to hold the same unto and to the use of the said Minister and Churchwardens and their successors for the purposes …. upon trust to permit the said premises and all buildings thereon erected or to be erected to be for ever hereafter appropriated and used as and for a School for the Education of Children and adults or Children only of the Labouring manufacturing and other poorer Classes in the parish of Fordham aforesaid and as a residence for the Teacher or Teachers of the said School and for no other purposes…

…and it is hereby declared that the said School shall always be in union with and conducted according to the principles and in furtherance of the ends and designs of the National Society for promoting the education of the poor in the principles of the Established Church throughout England and Wales…”

This wording provides that the school site is to be used as a school, to educate the poorer children of the parish, to use the house for the schoolteacher(s), and to run the school in accordance with the principles of the Church of England.

Please know that the school has moved locations from the original land mentioned in this trust deed, but the purposes set out in the trust still applies.
